a5c7b9f00b A race of non-corporeal, parasitic aliens who go from planet to planet looking for hosts have come to Earth and basically taken over the human race. It's believed that, once inside a body, all memories of the host human are gone. Some few free humans remain hidden from them, forming a resistance group. When an alien Seeker captures a girl named Melanie and puts a Wanderer in her body, she hopes to find out where the remaining humans are gathered, but Melanie, a strong fighter able to converse with the alien in her commandeered body, convinces the Wanderer to say nothing. Disappointed by the lack of progress (though suspecting an empathy for the human), the Seeker informs the Wanderer that she'll be removed and placed in a new host while she herself will enter Melanie. With human lives at risk, Melanie convinces Wanderer to run away and hide out with the humans, but finding them doesn't mean they'll allow an alien presence among them. Jared (Melanie's boyfriend) wants her dead, but Jeb (Melanie's uncle) wants to wait, and Ian, tasked with guarding her, finds himself siding with Jeb. As Ian begins to fall for Melanie, a strange love triangle develops, with Ian wanting Wanderer (inhabiting Melanie's body), Jared wanting Melanie (imprisoned inside her own body), and no one knowing any way to separate the two without killing both.
When an unseen enemy threatens mankind by taking over their bodies and erasing their memories, Melanie will risk everything to protect the people she cares most about, proving that love can conquer all in a dangerous new world.

Ohhh silly me. This is yet another example of an intriguing concept being executed in the most generically dull method ever. A love triangle? Really? Well, more like a love parallelogram. A parasitical alien race have invaded Earth and search for hosts to control. An organism named Wanderer is implanted into a young girl where she refuses to relinquish control. A simple case of a seemingly antagonistic entity learning the strength of humanity and betraying their own kind to better understand the emotional complexity of human beings. Alas, what we actually get is an alien romanticising with a man whilst simultaneously the same girl falls back in love with another guy. The girl and organism being in the same body, this creates a conflict of interest. Forget about the interesting derequisition of humanity. Put aside the slick chrome plated vehicles and the minimalistic design, both architecturally and decoratively. We have to settle for a boring, lifeless love story. 'Twilight: Loving Hosts'. Niccol takes the source material of Meyer's "ingenious imaginative" novel and manages to lengthen an unloving love story to over two hours. Stilted performances, with a few glimpses of excellence from Ronan and Kruger, a lifeless screenplay that removes any humanity that the human characters have. They are justsoullessthe hosts. The script insistently references lifea bigger picture, attempting to be philosophical, but actually its just words conveniently strung together creating weightless sentences. It's all set in a cave. The ending was stupendously cheesy. The only saving grace was Imagine Dragons' 'Radioactive'. So aside from some minor scenes of genuine entertainment, The Host climbs inside a thought provoking concept and struggles to do anything meaningful with it. I shan't be reading the book, that's a fact.
I don't know why but it seems the romance movie base on novel are just seems don't work , for example Beautiful Creatures i think it's not bad at all the potential is there but it's just not well execute… and waste of such an opportunities. In This Case The Host the first time i see the rating in IMDb it's just so hard to go and see it right away because of 5.9 points but when i saw the review that say it's not that bad i decided to go and see it.<br/><br/>The Host the things that i like the most in this movie is how lively it is. The story of these character are just so fun to watch and the conflict , the love stuff is just makes this movie has so much life , and i can see a lots of potential that this movie can go.<br/><br/>But the things that makes The Host just not perfect is it's just too much TV-Series the way they told the story , the event is just so much like The Walking Dead with the alien instead of walkers and romance instead of drama.<br/><br/>And the fact that they just skip so much stuff and background of this Earth last stand just makes you confused and sometimes not believe what they told.<br/><br/>The Host has a lot of not well execute story and the way that just too much like TV-Series but I love how they tell their story and the things that just makes this movie so lively and just fun to watch even include it's bad stuff.
The Host will make perfect sense to 12-year-old girls, while their college-age sisters will probably laugh themselves sick and their mothers will look at Hurt and wonder when he got so old.
